Komplekt is a cultural management and consultancy agency focused on design and other creative practices. The Studio generates content and manages self-initiated as well as commissioned projects.
In the first episode of season two of the podcast, we are joined by curators, book authors, designers and visual researchers Svoboda Tsekova and Anton Staykov. The occasion for our meeting is their work on the Bulgarian pavilion at the Bologna International Children's Book Fair 2024 - one of the leading events for children's literature internationally, which has been held since 1963. In addition, they are the authors of the exhibition design and curators of the included exhibition "Joy, Sadness and Hope. 25 Bulgarian illustrators of children's books".
In the episode, we find out more about their work on these projects that are permanently imprinted in the mind; about the effort it cost to conceptualize and design a pavilion for an event like the International Children's Book Fair in Bologna; about ways to capture the attention of an audience among the many participants at an international exhibition; about design as a tool to tell a story, to challenge, to seduce.
Current projects by Svoboda Tsekova and Anton Staykov can be viewed here.
