Komplekt is a cultural management and consultancy agency focused on design and other creative practices. The Studio generates content and manages self-initiated as well as commissioned projects.
At the invitation of IKEA, Komplekt received the task of organizing an exclusive exhibition to present to the Bulgarian public the new IKEA collection, created together with the world-famous designer Sabine Marcelis. The muse of the collection is light and its ability to influence our mood and emotional well-being.
The program for the opening event (February 7, KO-OP gallery in Sofia) also features architect Eva Kurteva (KUKADESIGN), who talks about the role of lighting in the interior and how complicated, important and enigmatic it is to work on this topic.
More about Sabine Marcelis
Sabine Marcelis was born and raised in New Zealand, and after graduating from the Eindhoven Academy of Design, she stayed in the Netherlands and established her practice in Rotterdam. There is a particular self-sufficiency in her objects, a pleasant mix between minimalism and whimsy, each of them could stand as a work of art in the space. Her eponymous studio currently maintains a team of designers with whom she works on installations, interiors, furniture, accessories and light. From the very beginning of her professional journey, her favorite materials are resin and glass, because she believes that they best capture similar processes in nature. "I am constantly on a quest to capture the intangible in matter and object," says Sabine Marcelis about her work.
