In episode 12* our guest is architect Penka Stancheva, a professional with 30 years of independent practice and experience in designing public and residential spaces in Bulgaria, Germany, France, Turkey, Thailand and Chile. Her diverse portfolio includes restorations of traditional stone houses and monumental buildings, as well as many interiors, for which she has a strong passion. In 2019, she won the competition for the new building of the laboratory unit of the Bulgarian Antarctic Base on Livingston Island. She has won numerous international and national awards.

We talk to Penka about the latest edition of Milan Design Week with a retrospective, visions for the future and some insights from the biggest crosspoint for dialogue and innovation in the field. We walk through the galleries, installations and locations that made the strongest impression on her. We stop at Baranzate ateliers, a project of the Belgian Zaventem ateliers, a space for creation, exchange and experimentation dedicated to design. We end with inspiring reflections on freedom of thought and action; on design as a copy of the world we live in; on the intersections between the world of logic and consumerism and the world of emotion, creation and sharing.
