10 Days of Culture In District Six

Studio Komplekt and Gabrovo Municipality, partners in the European project CINEMA – Creative Industries for New Urban Economies in the Danube Region, funded by the Danube Transnational Cooperation Program 2014-2020 (INTERREG), organise a series of culture events in the heart of Gabrovo between 17 and 26th of June 2022.

The central neighbourhood of Gabrovo – District Six – hosts a variety of creative events with free access. The aim of a similar approach is to reveal the potential of the location to attract visitors and to be a hub for a variety of activities and cross-sectoral collaborations. The focus is on the power of the creative sector to nurture the milieu ideas and occasions for beneficial change.

PROGRAM

 17 June (Friday)
– 18:00-18:30: Opening of the exhibition „Sustainable Fashion and Design from the V4 Group”, in the open, along the street of  Avram Gachev Str. Until 30th of June 2022.
– 16:00-19:00: Workshop “Belenitsa Flowers” and exhibition “Ethno Lens: Midsummer’s Day”, ETAR, in front of Dechkova House, District Six
– 19:00-20:00: Documental Theatre – Vox Populli: Six Stories from District Six. Meeting in front of the Tourist Info Centre, District Six. Pre-book your spot, up to 20 spectators per performance HERE.

 18th June (Saturday)
– 10:00-12:00 and 16:00-18:00:Workshop “Belenitsa Flowers” by ETAR, in front of Dechkova House, District Six

– 11:00-12:30: Foundation Read Sofia – Literature Walk in District Six. Start in front of Dechkova House, District Six.
– 16:00-17:30: Discussion: Sustainable Practices in Design and Fashion with the participation of Prasklo (Czech Republic) and Katalin Huszar (Hungary). At the House of Humour Museum, Hall of the Giraffe. The discussion is in English.
– 18:00-18:30: „Question of Time“ – presentation of the results of the workshop for social posters by NoPoint Atelier. Meeting point in front of the Tourist Info Center in District Six.

 26 June (Sunday)
– 12:00-15:00: Presentation of the results of the Creative Workshop of Know-How Show-How – an independent educational platform for art and design in front of the general public. At the building of the Community Center “Buditelite 2017”.
