Komplekt is a cultural management and consultancy agency focused on design and other creative practices. The Studio generates content and manages self-initiated as well as commissioned projects.
In this episode we talk to the publisher of MD magazine Bistra Shishkova and industrial designer Ilian Milinov. The occasion is the book of MD magazine dedicated to 50 names in Bulgarian design and their influence in the discipline over the last 22 years. The areas represented range from vehicles, through consumer design and electronics, to furniture and products. The collected examples build the image of Bulgaria as a modern and progressive country in terms of design. The book is also an important archive for current and future reference, capturing local and global trends from the early 21st century.
The main driving force behind the project is Bistra, who joined our podcast to tell us more. Ilian Milinov, on the other hand, is featured in the issue as one of the most successful contemporary designers in Bulgaria. He's a winner of international awards, including four statuettes of the most prestigious award - Red Dot Design Award. Among his notable works are the Seattable table-chair for ORT, the Hang Stool and the twip pregnancy test.
